Fun RSVP Questions That Actually Get Answered
If you're looking for the practical, essential RSVP fields, our main guide to RSVP questions covers those. This one is just the fun extras, the questions that make the form feel less like paperwork.
There's a real difference between the questions you need for logistics and the ones that just make responding more enjoyable. Both have a place, but they're not the same job.
Questions that double as reception content
A few questions do double duty, they're fun to answer, and the answers become part of your actual day:
- "What song will absolutely get you on the dance floor?" (a genuinely useful DJ input, disguised as a fun question)
- "Any advice for a long, happy marriage?" (read a few aloud during speeches, or compile them into a keepsake)
- "Predict what time the first dance will start" (a lighthearted guessing game you can reveal later)
Questions that build anticipation
Others exist just to make the RSVP process itself feel a little more like part of the celebration, rather than a form to get through:
- "What's your best wedding memory as a guest?"
- "Guess our first dance song"
- "One word to describe how you're feeling about our wedding"
One rule worth following
Every fun question should be genuinely optional, never a required field. The moment a playful question becomes mandatory, it stops feeling playful and starts feeling like an obstacle between a guest and finishing the form. Mark these clearly as optional, and keep them short enough that skipping feels like no loss.
How many is too many
Two or three fun questions add personality. Six or seven start to feel like a survey, and some guests will simply abandon the form rather than answer all of them. If you're genuinely torn between several good ones, pick your favourites and let the rest go, this is meant to add a little joy, not become its own project.
If you want the essential, practical side of your RSVP sorted first, start there, then come back and add one or two of these on top.
